TWO NEW MICRO TOOL LINES FROM KYOCERA DEBUT AT IMTS

Composites/Fiberglass Routers and Engraving Tools offer cutting-edge solutions

Irvine, CA. September 15, 2004 – Kyocera Micro Tools will introduce new composites/fiberglass routers and engraving tools at the International Manufacturing Technology Show this week. Both lines are designed to increase production efficiency in manufacturing environments.

The composites/fiberglass routers include a 0.25-inch carbide straight-flute router bit used in manufacturing. It’s operated by a hand-held air tool and is ideal for cutting both fiberglass and plywood. Kyocera Micro Tools developed the routers by working closely with one of its customers who was looking to reduce production times and extend the life of router bits. The specially designed carbide router is the result of six months of development. After optimizing geometries, flute lengths/depths, and rake/relief angles, the average production per tool doubled.

The second new line from Kyocera Micro Tools is split-point engravers. Used in the awards industry and for engraving part numbers on a variety of products, the engraving tools are another line of precision-engineered carbide products from the company’s 100,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Irvine, California.
