FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PREVIEW KYOCERA’S CUSTOM ELECTRODE MANUFACTURING CAPABILITIES AT IMTS
Specializations include non-standard sizes and diameters of less than .005”
Irvine, CA. September 9, 2004 – Kyocera Micro Tools will introduce custom electrode manufacturing capabilities at the International Manufacturing Technology Show in Chicago this week. Kyocera provides precision electrodes to specific customer requirements. The two main advantages to manufacturers are high-volume consistency and the ability to use materials that are optimized for the EDM process (instead of using materials that make it easier to machine the electrode).
The average shop with EDM machines can now offer micro EDM services without having to develop their own electrode manufacturing processes. For shops that currently use their EDM machines to manufacture electrodes, their equipment can be better utilized making revenue-generating parts.
Kyocera offers electrodes with high-volume consistency in diameters from .0005” to .250”, tolerances as tight as +/- 50 millionths and stunning surface finishes. Kyocera uses state-of-the-art CNC machines at the company’s 100,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Irvine, California.
